“Why Man Creates” by Saul Bass, 1968 animated short documentary film.

Well, this is certainly nice to see after hearing about the GOP bill to cut arts funding, representing approx. .001% of the deficit.

On a sidenote, both in Sideways which I watched last night and at the end of this video, the Cycladic figure is shown… Nice little coincidence there. I love the figure, there was one at Christie’s that I got to see in person while supervising the lot’s photoshoot. The piece was from 2400-2300 BC. Can you believe something from that period even physically exists? Amazing! And verifiable proof that the drive to create is intrinsically human since eons ago!!!
